We should always explore to find more varieties and options. After the adventurous hiking, this is a good place for the next hang out - a very far-off place, yet able to cure your hunger after excessive exercise. It is a restaurant which is quite hidden and special in selling grilled fish. The fish is cooked on the spot after being caught alive and thus is extremely fresh. There is a pond solely to rear the fish as shown in the picture above.

Step 1: Say bye bye to the fish here as they are going to heaven soon...

Step 2: Look! In overall, this is a recommended restaurant that you can go when you happen to travel in Langkawi. We wanted to try the mussle initially, but unfortunately they are sold out. There are tanks in this restaurant which used to rear those seafood which is going to be cooked. But most of them are already empty, out of stock maybe? Haha...

Address (click here for google map):
Lot 441
Taman Sri Langkawi
Kelibang
Kuah
07000 Langkawi
Kedah
Tel: 04-9668888

Yummy Yummy @ LGK Yummy Yummy Seafood

You might be thinking, is this my restaurant? Haha...but I can tell you it is not, it is just so happen that the restaurant has the same name like my blog :p. I went to Langkawi and saw this restaurant, then decided to go in and have a try.

According to the boss, this is a new dish - fried cuttlefish with salted egg. Though it is a dry dish, comes without any dressing or sauce, but the combination with salted egg is good! You can still feel the freshness of the cuttlefish while the salted egg dissolves in your mouth.

This is lemon chili lala. I feel that this dish is so so only. It comes with a bit of soup which is not bad, sour and spicy. However, the lala is too small (the normal small type of lala), which I think has spoil the dish. Moreover, the lala shell has been knocked into pieces (I don't know why, is that Langkawi cooking style?), which makes it a bit difficult to eat because the small broken shell is everywhere. If it cooks with the lala which we normally eat in Boston Baru in Klang, then I think it would be great!

'Gong bou heh goh' (heh goh is mantis prawn in Hokkien, gong bou is a Cantonese term which means the spicy diced cooking style) is the dish which I don't recommend. I feel that the heh goh is not fresh and there is no heh goh taste at all! But I can feel that it is fried with a lot of flour.

As usual, this is 'ching chao yao mak' (fried lettuce in Cantonese).

Apple juice.

Also, there are other dishes which I never show here. In overall, I think this stall is so so only except for certain dish which I think is good! As for the price, you may see from the above menu. This stall is located somewhere near the Langkawi Parade (5 - 10 minutes walk). And same row with this stall, the whole row is seafood restaurants. If you familiar with Wonderland Seafood, it is also located at the same row too.

Address:
206 & 207
Jalan Kelana Mas
07000 Kuah Langkawi
Kedah
Tel: 012-5637093/017-4251150

Yummy Yummy @ Restoran Soon Lee

Restoran Soon Lee is a normal hawker restaurant which you can find different variety of Chinese food. It consists of different kinds of ingredients such as mushroom, peanut, shredded squid, preserved egg, dried oyster and etc. Also, it comes with 'yao cha guai' (fried dough sticks in Cantonese).

Address (click here for google map):

Jalan 1/10

Petaling Jaya

Selangor

(PJ Old Town)

Yummy Yummy @ JoJo Pan Mee (Bandar Puchong Jaya)

JoJo Pan Mee is quite popular among the food hunters too. Just as it's name says, this is a restaurant which specializes in Pan Mee (a Hokkien style egg noodle). The noodle comes in different choices which you can find in the menu. Also, you may choose which form of the noodle you prefer, such as 'mit' (hand-torn form in Cantonese), 'chou' (thick regular strips in Cantonese) or 'yao' (thin regular strips in Cantonese).

The above is the fried pork soup Pan Mee. I come here for dinner occasianally especially when finish shopping at the Giant.

I love the 'Melaka Char Mee' (Melaka fried mee in Cantonese) above, selling at RM3.80 for small. It tastes good with the chili and a bit spicy. I wouldn't have missed this whenever I come to this stall.

Another recommended food here is the Paprik chicken, selling at RM6 for small. Also, it is a spicy dish which you will need to order the rice (RM0.80 for small) seperately.

The above is the Tom Yam soup which is selling at RM4.50. It is different from the ordinary Tom Yam from Thailand - a bit sour, extremely spicy, concentrated and full of the Tom Yam ingredients (some tips: do remember to prepare some tissues beside you before drinking, haha...). When I first order this dish, I had the feeling of drinking an extremely concentrated chili paste instead of a soup. I couldn't stand it and forced to order a few glasses of ice water to save the fire in my stomach.
In overall, if you like normal Nyonya/Chinese/Thai style food, you may come to try at this stall. If compare this with Courtyard Garden, I would prefer the later one (without comparing the price). There are other more expensive menu which we never try, do leave some comments here if you have tried before. During lunch time, this restaurant has the most customers (mostly are workers around that area) among the rest of the restaurants in Plaza Kelana Jaya. Anyway, Plaza Kelana Jaya is quite new and most of the shop lots (more than 50%) are not occupied yet.

Address (click here for google map):
Block D-01-01
Jalan SS7/13A
Plaza Kelana Jaya
47301 PJ
Selangor
Tel: 03-78755230

Yummy Yummy @ Jalan Tengah

I was brought by my friend to this hawker restaurant (甘香茶餐食) after jungle trekking at Bukit Gasing during the weekend. As usual, you may choose to pour the sweet soy sauce, curry sauce or chili sauce over the dish. I personally think that the sweet soy sauce here is nice, not too sweet and not too dark. I always wonder, why does the sweet soy sauce always comes in different colors though it is made of the same ingredient - fermenting soybeans. Some are as dark as black, maybe is the making process? Or something else that you wouldn't know...

Another recommended food here is the 'Char Kuey Teow' (fried kuey teow in Cantonese), delicious and not too spicy.

One of my friends tested the prawn mee here, but thinks that it is so so only.

The ventilation is good here because it is the corner lot. No doubt, it is famous for its non-claypot style Bak Kut Teh. For me, I do not have the habit of eating Bak Kut Teh at night because I would prefer to have it during day time. However, this restaurant only open business at night, therefore I have no choice. :)

I wonder why it is so famous when I taste it the first time. Maybe it is due to its soup, which is very strong in herbal taste, yet not too dense. Moreover, the pork and innards are well cooked with its soft texture and can be easily bitten. The dish that I like the most is the mushroom and golden needle mushrooms/Enokitake, my favourite food! :P And of course, there are other side orders which is common in Bak Kut Teh such as the 'yao cha guai' and dry bean curd, also not forgetting vegetables. Total cost above is RM51.20 for 4 persons.

The above two pictures are the traditional things that you will always see in any Bak Kut Teh restaurant - garlic, chili and Chinese tea.

It is rated as one of the top 20's Bak Kut Teh in Malaysia.

It is very crowded with people during dinner time. If you are not, well, you may continue to read this post to know more about it. :P
This is a restaurant which sells only one type of noodle, the own made noodle by uncle Seng. The noodle is made of egg and flour which has a springy and smooth texture. Do not think that the smoothness is due to the oil because it is not oily at all. It is the pure ordinary texture of the noodle itself.

The noodle comes with different types of choices which you can choose from the menu, or you may order plain noodle too. The above is noodle with braised pork which sells at RM5.60 for small. A lot isn't it? Yes, it is true, the small plate is served in quite a big portion which I think it is more than enough for a normal eater (even for guys...).

Another example above is noodle with 'char siew' (grilled pork in Cantonese), 'wan tan' (dumpling in Cantonese) and curry chicken selling at RM6 for small. The noodles will always come along with a small bowl of free soup. Other than that, the menu includes also chicken feet mushroom, shredded chicken, deep fried pork and etc.

Most of the customers would prefer to eat the noodles together with this special made chili. It is not spicy and is fairly sweet. But for me, I would prefer to go without the chili because I like its original taste.

I would say that this is a nice place to go for a quick and simple meal. It is quite popular among the residents, college students and workers around this area. They sell also the raw noodle, which you can buy and bring home to cook it yourself. My mummy tested once, but failed to get the same texture as it is served in the restaurant, maybe not enough 'kung fu' (often known as Chinese martial art in Mandarin, but here refers to the cooking technique) as uncle Seng, haha...

68, Jalan SS15/4B
47500 Subang Jaya
Selangor

Yummy Yummy @ Restoran Loke Yun Ampang

Have you heard of Loke Yun Ampang chicken rice and Hainan chicken rice? This restaurant is located somewhere near the Ampang Yong Tau Fu if you are familiar with it. The front part of this restaurant is without air-condition. When you walk further in, you will find a nicely renovated area which is air-conditioned. Due to the limited space, most of the tables are small and the walkways are narrow. The restaurant is crowded during peak hours and often you will need to queue outside to wait for a place to sit.

Do not get surprised or doubt when you see the chicken with different colors because they sell 2 types of chicken (as other restaurant does). The normal type chicken is with light yellow skin color and 'coi yin kai' (farm chicken in Cantonese) is darker in yellow as shown above. The farm chicken meat is very tender and juicy. We ordered half chicken and it costs RM30.

Some people do not like chicken parts, but I love it very much. This is mixture of chicken parts which includes chicken intestine and chicken gizzard. Small one is selling at RM3.

The fish ball is another side order which costs us RM10 for a big one (with 10 fish balls). This is not the normal type fish ball that we usually get when order fish ball noodle. It has chicken filling in it.

Of course, we never forget to order vegetables to help digestion. Lettuce small is selling at RM5 and bean sprout big is selling at RM4.

The chicken oil rice big is RM1.20, very tasty and it is really BIG (too much for a small eater like me :P)!

Not forgetting blended ginger and chili that we will always get together with chicken rice. It seems that this restaurant has received quite a number of awards and recognitions and it claims to be one of the best Hainan chicken rice in Malaysia. Usually when we mention Hainan chicken rice, the Melaka Hainan chicken rice (ball-shape) will come to our mind. But this is not the ball type. Somehow, that area is not easy to find parking. But to get good food, who cares? :)

Address:

158, Jalan Besar

Ampang

Selangor

Yummy Yummy @ SS2/4A

This hawker stall is nameless, but it is quite famous with its noodles and kuih-muih (Asian concept of 'cake' or 'pastry' in Malay). It is located at a nameless street too, haha... What I can say is, it is somewhere near Jalan SS2/4A (a small road which split from this main road and has a lot of hawker stalls in that area).

' Teoh Chew mee diao' (Teoh Chew noodle in Teoh Chew) is the main selling of this stall. The laksa taste is not so strong and not that spicy too.

'Teoh Chew Chai Kuih' (the white color one) and 'Guan Chang Kuih' (the brownish one) is selling at RM0.70 each.

Other than noodles and kuih-muih, the stall also sells different kind of 'tong sui' (some kind of soup dessert in Cantonese). Above is the red bean soup which sells at RM1.20.

There is also a stall beside, which I think is linked to this food stall, provides drinks to customers.

Address:

SS2/4A

Yummy Yummy @ Restoran Boston Baru

This is my friends' favourite supper place, Restoran Boston Baru in Klang. Yeah, it is a seafood restaurant which is quite popular among food hunters. The 'seung tong' (soup in Cantonese) lala is the dish which my friends like the most. They always state that, without eating the lala then is not considered as coming to Boston Baru. With the small chili, shredded ginger, minced garlic and white wine, it tastes good! Even for me who don't like ginger feel that the combination and amount of ginger they put is just nice to serve the dish tastefully.

However, just to share some personal experience, sometimes the lala is served not as nice as we thought. Maybe that time the sifu (cook in Cantonese) is not in good cooking mood, hehe...
The above is also a popular dish, Nestum 'heh goh' (mantis prawn in Hokkien). It is so crunchy and with the Nestum together, yummyyyy.....

This is 'nam yu' (preserved bean sauce in Cantonese) chicken. Not bad, the preserved bean sauce taste is quite strong. Most of the time me and my friends do not order meat dishes, but only seafood and some noodles. They sell also 'ker leng min' (Indian noodle in Cantonese) and 'zhu hun gen' (fried tapioca noodle in Hokkien) which we order regularly too.

After eating seafood, we shall order also vegetables to help digestion. :) Total for all 4 dishes above are RM61, including the drinks ('leung sui' - herbal tea) that we ordered.
Me and my friends usually go there on 9.30pm onwards. Though the dishes are good in overall, but the serving time is very long. You may need to wait at least half an hour to 45 minutes to get your dishes served, but me and my friends don't mind waiting for good food while we can 'chui sui' (chit chat in Cantonese) there, hehe...

Address:
In Klang Town, somewhere opposite KWSP office

Yummy Yummy @ Pavilion - Thye Hong, Western Cuisine, Ichiban Ramen

Pavilion, famous of its high parking rate. Well, it is common in KL area and no surprise...

Thye Hong, should describe it as a high class hawker stall, which you can find it in the Food Republic. It sells different kinds of hawker food such as fried mee, fried meehoon and etc. It seems that it has received quite a number of awards and recognitions (refer picture below).

Below is Singapore fried prawn mee which ordered by my Singapore friend, but she complained that it does not taste the same as the original one from Singapore.

There is another restaurant called Western Cuisine, which sells all kinds of western food such as steak, chop, pasta and etc.

The display of the real food in front of the restaurant is so drooling and seducing.

Grilled chicken sausage is selling at RM13.90. I think the portion is too small for a guy but just nice for a small eater like me :) .

If you feel like eating Japanes ramen, try it from Ichiban Ramen. Initially I thought the portion is small, but after finishing it, I feel that it is so filling, but taste so so only.

Wakame ramen set below selling at RM17.00 includes wakame ramen, a cup of green tea and a small plate of dumpling. Usually, we can get it in any dim sum restaurant. But this, John King, is famous for its different flavours egg tarts. I wanted to try the durian flavour egg tart, but end up with the original egg tart, the typical traditional one, haha...

Some of my friends love this a lot, but some just think that it is so so only. I find that you do not even need to bite and it will just melt in your mouth, good for the elderly people. :) If you notice, John King has another branch in One Utama too.

Address:

Level 1

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

Yummy Yummy @ Home Made Fish Head Noodle

Fish head noodle, do you like it? Well, this is my mummy's favourite restaurant in Kota Damansara. Always, when she could not think of what to eat, then we will all end up at this restaurant. She is a very health conscious person and quite particular in food, so if she likes a food, then I think I should share it with you, haha...
The deep fried fish head noodle here is not bad (selling at RM8.50), give it a try when you have chance. When ordering, the waitress will usually ask if you would like to have salted vegetables, shredded ginger and milk or not. For me, I don't like ginger. So, the very first thing I will tell the waitress during order is not to put ginger.

My favourite from this restaurant is not the fish head noodle, but the fish paste noodle. Unfortunately, it is sold out during my last visit. Therefore, I could not share the picture here. :(
Below is udon with chicken meat in black pepper. The black pepper taste is 'ngam ngam ho' (just nice in hokkien). This is selling at RM8.80.

What is this? A free appetizer served before your main course, it is not fixed and changes from time to time. Below is some kind of fried vegetables together with fried 'ikan bilis' (dried anchovies).

In overall, this restaurant has a very calm environment (yellow lighting makes my pictures yellowish too). It is always full house during lunch time on weekdays, and also packed with people on weekends. The fish they use to cook is '松鱼' (big head carp) and the noodle is served with quite a number of fish pieces (not just bone like some other places).

Sea coconut selling at RM2.50 and home made barley and ginkgo selling at RM2.50.

When they just started their business, they used to sell only fish head noodle and other fish related noodles. Yeah, Klang is well-known with Bah Kut Teh. But that is a bit too far for some people who lazy to drive like me. :P
This restaurant is a branch from Klang and the main specialty is the dry Bah Kut Teh (selling at RM9.50 per pax). It is cooked with dried shredded squid and dried chili makes it very yummy yummy...Free soup (Bah Kut Teh soup) is served if you only order dry Bah Kut Teh.

However, the dish that I always crave for in this restaurant is not the dry Bah Kut Teh, nor the soup Bah Kut Teh, but is the pig stomach pepper soup (selling at RM10), haha...The pig stomach pepper soup is 'ichiban' (very good in Japanese)! The pepper taste is hot enough and the pig stomach is tender and just nice for you to bite and swallow. My mummy told me pig stomach need to cook in quite long hours, else it will be very hard to swallow. Usually when we order soup Bah Kut Teh, we always get to add the soup like free flow. But that is not applicable for this pepper soup. There was once I brought one of my friend there and he wanted to request for that, which makes all of us 'paiseh' (embarrassed in Hokkien)! Hahaha...

The lady's finger with homemade Assam sauce is selling at RM7 (small)/RM9 (big).

I like to eat mushrooms, all sorts of mushrooms, especially golden needle mushrooms/Enokitake (金针菇), yummy yummy...The mixed mushrooms (oyster mushroom, golden needle mushroom and button mushroom) below is selling at RM9.

Address:
No. 9-1, Jalan PJU 1/3C
Sunway Mas Commercial Centre
47301 PJ Selangor

Yummy Yummy @ Hoong Foong Dim Sum

Dim sum!!! I bought prawn, chicken and ham (my supper). It is different from the burger that you can normally get from McDonald's or Ramli Burger. Instead of using bread as the outer layer, it uses egg. And instead of using mayonnaise, it uses some kind of sauce (not sure what sauce, but it tastes good). Special isn't it?

Look at the picture below, you can see what is inside the different layers...

There are many other foods you can find from this pasar malam. In fact, it is a fried assam laksa.
This restaurant is nice. Although, it has many choices of food, but every time when I go in, the first food that I will order is the fried laksa.

Here you go, can you see it?
